Celebrate National Canned Food Month By Supporting Our Food Drive With Move For Hunger! Friday Feb 05, 2021

In honor of National Canned Food Month, Advance Relocation Systems is teaming up with one of our community partners, Move For Hunger, to host a food drive. If you’re in a position to donate, we would highly appreciate it if you do. The details of the drive are listed below:

Date: Saturday, 27th February, 2021
Time: 9:00 a.m - 1:00 p.m
Location: Geresbeck’s, 2109 Eastern Blvd, Baltimore, MD 21220

February was first declared National Canned Food Month in 1987 by The Canned Food Information Council to debunk some common myths about the nutritional quality of canned foods. Canning food is a preservation tactic with its origin somewhere in the early 1800s. Canned food remains a popular way to donate extra food to those in need, save money in your household, and keep cooking time down with pre-made favorites.

Move For Hunger was founded in 2009 as a sustainable way for the relocation industry to reduce food waste and fight hunger. Move For Hunger partners with moving companies across the country to deliver non-perishable food items to food banks when people are moving/relocating.

Advance Relocation Systems is a proud partner with Move For Hunger. We have been involved since 2013. In addition to collecting food while we are in residences, we have also held a few food drives. Around 50 million Americans face hunger each day and this number has increased because of job insecurity and wage loss incurred during the pandemic. Many families and children across our country are hungry and malnourished and need your help. Whether you’re moving or not, why not take this opportunity to search your pantry for canned goods and other non-perishables that you could donate to help feed a family in need.

Come out on Saturday, February 27th and support the food drive or make a donation directly to Move For Hunger, through their website at https://moveforhunger.org/
