Their stories are ones of resilience, love, legacy and an unwavering commitment to showing up — at work and at home. We are proud to shine a spotlight on the women who remind us every day that strength and tenderness are not opposites — they are, in fact, the very foundation of everything we do.

Our Senior Vice President, Charlene Conklin

She didn’t just build a career at ARS — she helped build the company itself. Charlene Conklin joined Advance Relocation Systems in 1984, stepped away briefly, and returned in 1987 with no intention of ever looking back. Nearly four decades later, she serves as Vice President and remains one of the most enduring pillars of the ARS family.

In 1991, Charlene married company President Dalton Conklin, and together they navigated the unique and rarely-simple challenge of being business partners and life partners under the same roof — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 35 years. As Charlene herself puts it, it’s “not for everyone” — but for them, it works.

As a mother, Charlene raised two children who couldn’t be more different in their paths — and more alike in their drive. Her daughter Morgan followed her dreams of becoming an aeronautical engineer and flight instructor, soaring in her field from California. One of Charlene’s most treasured memories? Flying alongside Morgan during her flight instruction at just 16 years old. Her son Tyler took an entirely different runway — starting from the ground up at ARS at the age of 10, sweeping warehouse floors and emptying trash. Today, Tyler oversees all of Operations and Safety, and is being groomed to one day lead the company his parents built. He’s also a proud father of three boys — the grandsons who have, as Charlene says, “stolen her heart.”

Our CSR / International Relocation Specialist / Office Manager, Nicolle Barbour

If there’s one person at ARS who knows how to keep things moving — and keep her heart open in the process — it’s Nicolle Barbour, a.k.a Nikki. In her role as CSR, International Relocation Specialist, and Office Manager, she is the kind of professional who handles complexity with calm and treats every client like they matter. Because to her, they do.

As a mother, Nikki approaches parenthood the same way she approaches her work: with intention, honesty and a willingness to keep showing up even when the path isn’t perfectly clear. She was drawn to a quote that captures what motherhood really means to her:

“Motherhood is a choice you make every day to put someone else’s well-being before your own, to teach the hard lessons, to do the right thing, even when you’re not sure what that may be, and to forgive yourself, over and over again, for making mistakes.”

In those words, you hear someone who understands that being a great mom isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence, perseverance, and grace. Nikki embodies all three, and ARS is lucky for having her.

 

Our Office and Industrial Sales Manager, Michelle Green 

Michelle brings the same warmth and care to everything she does — both as a mom and as a team member. She has a natural way of making people feel supported, whether she’s guiding her family or helping a colleague through a challenge. Reliable, thoughtful, and always willing to step in, Michelle creates a sense of ease and trust around her. Her kindness isn’t just something she shows — it’s something she consistently lives, making her someone everyone genuinely appreciates having in their corner.

Our Special Products Manager, Sheri Cochran 

Sheri Cochran has been a dedicated part of the ARS team since 2015, balancing her career in Special Products with a very important role — being a mom. With love and determination, she has supported her 19 year-old daughter, who is in college, encouraging her to grow into her own path. One of Sheri's most cherished memories is watching her daughter preach a sermon at her church that she interned in last summer. She is going to school for Christian ministry and will be returning to the same church this coming summer. Through it all, Sheri exemplifies what it means to show up fully — both for work and family.
